With the launch of our new YFCI website, ePray has returned with a new look and new vision! We have crafted ePray to invite you into spiritual transformation, while mobilizing prayer for every young person! With this new look for ePray, be sure to email firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions or find any website errors or link inconsistencies.
Today as we revisit the ministry of ePray, I want to remind you of God’s ultimate mission for your life. From the creation narrative found in Genesis, we understand that Gods desire was to create people in His likeness (Genesis 1:26). God creating us to share His likeness, reveals his relational intent. He desires to be known by us and for us to be fully known by Him (1 Cor 8:3). God’s ultimate mission for your life is to make you like Jesus. In Romans 8:29 it says (italics mine),
“For God knew his people in advance, and he chose them to become like his Son…”
Through the life, death and resurrection of Jesus we have been brought back into relationship with God! Jesus has made God known to us! John’s Gospel reads in chapter 1, verse 18, “No one has ever seen God. But the unique One, who is himself God, is near to the Father’s heart. He has revealed God to us.” Through the work and person of Jesus, we again draw close to God with a clean conscience and sincere heart (Hebrews 10:19-23) in which we learn who He is, how He thinks, and how He moves. In Christ, we are invited to know our Heavenly Father in the same way Jesus knew Him. This is what Jesus bled and died for; that the entire human race (and every young person) would know the Father, and be redeemed into the image of His Son by the power of the Holy Spirit. All that Adam lost in the fall, Jesus permanently and effectually restored, for you and I.
Gods ultimate mission for your life is to see you fully identified in His Son. Jesus, has become for us the perfect example of what is available to us in relationship with God. He caused us to be born of God (1 John 2:29 & 3:1-3) and by His Spirit we are to walk in the same way He walked (1 John 2:6). Jesus perfectly identifies and represents you before the Father so that you may identify and be sent by Him on earth (John 20:21-22).
I want to invite you to surrender to the Holy Spirit’s presence and work in your life. Allow the Spirit to conform you to the image of the Son, by the way He speaks, convicts, washes, counsels, encourages and restores. As you pray this week, pray in the power of the Holy Spirit that the young people you work with would be transformed by a relationship with Jesus.
